Planning
Mission Statement:
To serve the City and to build a community by providing the highest level of professional service,
support, and vision while promoting business development, expansion, and retention with creative
partnerships, innovation and protection.
Duties:
The Lindsay Department of Planning is one of the most pervasive entity’s in
the City. It is involved in almost every project as it follows City Council directives in:
- Supporting businesses, residential developments, and commercial projects;
- Promoting community development by assisting in the preparation of state reports like the Housing Element and the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy;
- Assisting in preparation of maps, environmental documents, municipal code updates, and other planning projects;
- Providing information to the public regarding land use and zoning regulations;
- Participating in the sorting of forms required to establish business in the community;
- Highlighting all the City can offer to businesses.
