February 08, 2024 Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lindsay, California, February 08, 2024

On February 08, 2024, Richard Carrillo’s employment as the Director of Public Safety for the City of Lindsay was terminated.

As the City has previously stated, we cannot comment on personnel matters. However, the City would like to note that the City Council does not have authority to hire or fire the Director of Public Safety, and this is a decision that was made at the staff level.

In the interim, Lieutenant Ryan Heinks will be serving as the Acting Director of Public Safety. The City will soon begin a recruitment process for a permanent Director of Public Safety.

We want to ensure the citizens that staff often have to make hard decisions, but City staff are acting in the best interests of the City.
