August 28, 2024 - Press Release City of Lindsay Announces New Director of Public Safety

The City of Lindsay is proud to announce the appointment of Rob Moore as the new Director of Public Safety, effective Monday, September 2, 2024. Chief Moore was selected after a nationwide recruitment process, where he emerged as the top candidate.

Chief Moore began his law enforcement career in 1988 as a Deputy Sheriff with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office. In 2019, he transitioned to the Woodlake Police Department, where he served as a Commander after retiring from TCSO as a Lieutenant. He is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Executive Institute and has completed the Los Angeles Police Department's West Point leadership course. His 36 years of law enforcement experience will be a tremendous asset to the city.

Chief Moore has been married to his wife, Diana, for 25 years. He is a devoted father to two daughters, a son, and one grandson.  He enjoys spending quality time with his family in the mountains and along the coast.
