Drought Response ALERT: City of Lindsay in Phase 4 of Water Conservation Plan
The City of Lindsay is in Phase IV of the Water Conservation Plan. Phase IV requires all Lindsay water users - residential, business and commercial/industrial users - to help spread and balance peak water demands. Mandatory compliance will help ensure adequate water supply and pressure for the City’s needs, including fire protection.
Here are the specific requirements of Phase IV:
All residents are required to limit watering to the following schedule to help reduce demand on the City’s drinking water supply year-round:
• Odd numbered street addresses water only on Thursday's.
• Even numbered street addresses water only on Tuesday's.
• No outdoor watering on Monday's, Wednesday's, Friday's, Saturday's, Sunday's,
• No watering between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm.
• This program also requires customers to turn off their sprinklers 48 hours before and after rainy days.
• Drip irrigation systems shall only be used on the watering days and times identified with Phase IV.
• Handheld watering methods with automatic shutoff mechanism are limited to 30 minutes per day on your watering day.
• Use of pressure washing equipment with automatic shutoff mechanism is limited to 30 minutes per day on your watering day.
• Flowers, vegetable gardens, outdoor potted plants and hanging baskets are limited to using a hand-held bucket of five (5) gallons or less, or using a drip irrigation system.
• Newly planted lawns shall follow State of California landscape requirements.
• The washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, boats, airplanes and all other types of mobile equipment is permitted only when using a hand-held hose equipped with a positive shutoff nozzle for quick rinses during your watering day and time.
• The refilling or adding of water to swimming pools, wading pools and/or spas is permitted only between the hours of 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM and only on your watering day.
• Testing of irrigation systems shall only be done during your watering day and time.
