Water Feasibility Study (Draft)

City of Lindsay Water Services Quick Facts

General Information:

Unlike most communities, the City of Lindsay is unable to use its underground water to provide water services to its residents.  Therefore the City of Lindsay relies on canal water purchased from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.  Strathmore and Orange Cove are the only other two entities that purchase canal water for residential distribution.  The State of California requires additional treatment and disinfection for canal water.  This results in increased water costs that other cities do not have.  Even with these increased costs, the City of Lindsay is able to provide safe drinking water to its residents at comparable costs to neighboring cities.

Bureau of Reclamation.
